Disney Arrival Day

Our Disney trip this year started on a Thursday. We got to pick up Olivia from school right after lunch and we went straight to the airport. They were SO excited!!! Aidan was running around the neighborhood before we left yelling, "I'm going to DisneyWoooorllllldd!!!" They could hardly sit still!

We arrived in Florida about 7 pm and made it to our hotel around 9:00. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and got the pirate rooms. The pirate rooms were so cute and definitely the best part of the hotel. The beds looked like pirate ships and the bedspreads had treasure on them. All of the dressers and nightstands were made to look like crates and barrels. Super cute! The bathroom had a pirate ship shower curtain and the Flying Dutchmen pirate ship (from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie) was etched into the shower wall. We had a super late dinner that night then jumped in bed to get as much sleep as we could with two excited children before we headed to Magic Kingdom the next day. Sleep was a pretty difficult part of this trip. The kids were excited which made it harder to get to sleep. Plus they were sleeping in the same bed which caused extra excitement as well as extra tension. For us, the beds were a wee firm for comfort. Truth be told they were hard as rocks. Not as big of a deal the first night but they were near torture on subsequent nights when the exhaustion and sore muscles had set in. The resort was quite beautiful with beaches and lakes; however, it was much too cold while we were there to really enjoy any of them. Here's some pics from our arrival day:
