Magic Kingdom Day 1

We managed to get up bright and early the first day to head over to the Magic Kingdom to tackle Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown Fair, but not before some family pics at the hotel!

We had to wait at the bus stop for a while but finally made it a little after the park opened. It's always so much fun to see the kids' faces that first time they get a glance of the castle at the end of Main St. It really is quite beautiful! And so festive! Olivia was excited to be Aidan's tour guide for this moment and he was appropriately impressed. :)

One of the longest lines in the park is for the Dumbo ride so we hit that one first. We hit the Carousel next which is one of Gamma's favorites. Aidan begged me to take a pictures of his horse's teeth. He said, "Look Mom! Doesn't he have great teeth?!" I suppose so!

Right after the carousel ride I lost Aidan. Hadn't even been there an hour!!! We all went one way off the carousel and he went the other. While on the carousel ride I had pointed out to him the Sword in the Stone. Well, off he went to give it a go! He wanted that sword! After I scolded him for not staying with us I had to get a few pictures.
Not too much later we went to Cinderella's Castle for lunch. Wow! What a treat!!! We got a table by the windows so we were able to look out over Fantasyland while we ate. As soon as we sat down they passed out swords to the boys and wands to the girls plus special wishing stars for each. Boy, was Aidan impressed!!

The meal was really yummy - the best food we had while we were there. The desserts were great, too. The kids got an ice cream sundae with a huge chocolate crown on top! Pretty soon all of the princesses started to come around to the tables to visit.

After lunch we caught up with the fam and headed over to Mickey's Toontown Fair. We visited Minnie's cottage house and Mickey's house then headed to a play area to let the kids hang out for a bit. We had originally planned to go back to the hotel for a rest but our dinner reservations were at an early time so we just decided to go for it!

Next we went over to Tomorrowland where the we rode the best ride of the day - Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. Very cool ride!!! Here are the boys behind bars with the evil emperor Zurg:

After a few more rides in Tomorrowland and the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor which is like a comedy club for kids we took the monorail over to the Contemporary Resort for dinner at Chef Mickey's. We got to meet Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy. I can't really recommend Chef Mickey's. I thought it was pretty terrible food but Jeff assures me that his meat was good. Definitely won't go next time but it was fun to see the characters.

After dinner we took the monorail back to Magic Kingdom to see the SpectroMagic parade which is really neat. We were all pretty tired afterward so we skipped the fireworks and headed back to the hotel. It was tough getting them into bed to sleep even though they were exhausted but they finally did succumb. Stay tuned for Magic Kingdom Day 2...
