Party On Wheels

The kids agreed (after some fast talking from Mom) to have their parties together at the skating rink this year. It was a BLAST!!! We all had so much fun. We had it on May 13 so it was actually Olivia's birthday which was really neat, too. The cousins got to come in plus a lot of friends came to celebrate, too.

Aidan particularly loves the skate supports that you can rent. Whoever came up with this idea is complete genius! He can zoom all over the rink with one of these and since he's not falling all of the time he's not frustrated by it and can go for hours!

They both got to skate a bit with their friends and then they were called to the middle and everyone sang Happy Birthday to them. They also had the Hokey Pokey dance. Don't know if you've ever tried that on skates, but it is quite a challenge! After that we attempted to round them all up for pizza and cake. Olivia didn't want any sort of theme for her party this year so she just chose plates and napkins in her favorite colors (yellow, aqua, orange and purple). Aidan originally wanted Harry Potter but when we couldn't find it after 30 seconds in the party store he decided that Scooby Doo was just as good (and also right in front of his face requiring no further shopping). I order a rather garish Scooby Doo cake that was acid green, orange and purple. Oh yeah!!! That cake was just screaming, "I will stain your children FOREVER!!!" Tasted pretty good, though. ;)

Here are the girls:

And a super awesome photo of the grands:

Near the end of the party all bday kids are invited over to their cash tornado to spend a minute in the box trying to catch as many coupons and dollar bills as they could stuff into their grubby mitts in the given time. Olivia wouldn't even consider stepping into the box. She is much too shy to agree to be put on display in a clear box acting like a goon. Aidan, on the other hand, thought it was awesome! :) Olivia did choose a friend to go in for her and they split the coupons and money afterward.

Happy Birthday!!!
